It indexes registered patent attorneys and agents based on their publicly available USPTO filing history and uses a proprietary PatentFit Score to help you find practitioners whose technical expertise matches your invention’s area. The directory is a separate product from the drafting subscription and is free for all users. Geyser LLC does not endorse or guarantee any listed practitioner.

Is my invention idea safe and confidential?

Your data is processed through encrypted AI pipelines. Geyser LLC does not use your submissions to train AI models, does not sell your data, and does not share it with other users. However, your data is transmitted to third-party AI providers for processing. Additionally, because Geyser LLC is not a law firm, your communications with the platform are not protected by attorney-client privilege. Yes. Geyser™ is built for software and blockchain inventors. Module 1 includes an option to paste source code for deeper AI analysis. The platform handles inventions across software, blockchain, and related technology domains.

What happens after I download my draft?

You have several options. You can file the provisional application yourself directly with the USPTO through their Patent Center system. You can send the draft to a patent attorney for review and refinement before filing. Or you can use the free PatentFit™ Directory on patentgeyser.com to find a registered practitioner matched to your invention’s technical area.

What format is the final output?

The final provisional patent application draft downloads as a DOCX (Microsoft Word) file. It includes the background, summary of the invention, detailed description, claims, and optionally generated technical diagrams. DOCX is the standard format accepted by the USPTO for provisional filings.

Module 1 is designed to give you an honest assessment before you invest further time. If the Examiner agent identifies significant challenges, you can refine your concept with additional details, trigger a re-analysis, or accept the assessment. Knowing early that an idea needs work is more valuable than discovering it after drafting.

Is a provisional patent application a real patent?

Accepted Answer

No. A provisional application is not an issued patent. It is a filing that establishes your priority date and gives you up to 12 months of Patent Pending status. Within those 12 months, you must file a non-provisional application that references the provisional to maintain your priority date. The provisional itself is never examined by the USPTO and cannot be rejected, and it also cannot mature into a granted patent on its own.

Does Geyser™ file anything with the USPTO on my behalf?

Accepted Answer

No. Geyser™ does not file, transmit, or submit any documents to the USPTO or any other patent office. The platform produces a draft document. Filing is entirely your responsibility.

What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

You retain read-only access to your existing project data after cancellation. You lose the ability to run new AI processing workflows. Geyser LLC may retain data for a commercially reasonable period for backup, archival, or legal compliance purposes, after which it is deleted per our data retention policy.

What are the USPTO filing fees?

Accepted Answer

The provisional application filing fee is separate from Geyser™ and paid directly to the USPTO. As of the current fee schedule: micro entities pay $160, small entities pay $320, and large entities pay $640. Geyser™ drafts the application. The filing itself is your responsibility.
